just a thought that came up.

what if events like the NATO Tigermeet were held in the 1940's?
i think there are lots of possibilities here, just think:

-RAF 74squadron Spitfire Mk.V in Tiger scheme
-Tiger painted Bf109/110's, USAAF P-40's....

i think we can have tons of fun with this kind of Theme build  ;D
on the bench:

-all kinds of things.

Litvyak

RCAF Spitfire in the scheme that started it all, the CF-104's overall black and yellow?

Well, that brings up a very interesting point of Alternate Realities...What if the Soviet Union was more aggressive during the 20s and 30s, resulting in the formation of NATO between 1935-1940?  Of course there are some other things to consider.  A kinder, gentler Versailles Treaty which *doesn't* pin the blame on Germany for the Great War, the Crash of 1929 not being as violent as it was.  Perhaps instead of a global depression, a global recession (similar to what we're in now?)...the possibilities are definitely intriguing.

Scoot I've built some models around a theme similar to what you you've postulated.  The key to me was a more even handed Versailles Treaty and as you suggest a more aggresive Soviet Union. Meant that France started to re-arm Germany in the late 20's. My Germany by the way was a constitutional monarchy with the Kaiser's grandson ruling initially under a Regency.

A constitutional monarchy with a Regency would have made much more sense for Germany, a nation that was barely 50 years old as a united state, than doing away entirely with the Monarchy.  Hmm...Dewoitines, Hawkers and Glosters in Imperial Luftwaffe markings.

Just one thing... This is not too dissimilar from the current time-warped group build!  ;) I dont mind, this sounds awesome, but just going to put it out there....  ;D Never seen a RAAF Beaufort in Tigermeet 1946 scheme

Apologies for the drift after this post I will go and sit in the cold for 2 hours at rugby  One of my builds was a Dweotine in WWI Albatross ace markings - green/purple wings, sky blue fusalage and large personal markings.

I'll go into the cold now - sorry
