It does make some sense.

Cyclone seems a decent name.

Hmmm......

50sqm = 538sqft

40sqm = 430sqft

Roughly speaking the 430sqft at 37,257lb is a reasonable wingloading for take off from a CV.

Not so sure about the empty weight. Its rather light, J8 and Su15 are about that for twin engined fighters but its very low for western aircraft of the time.
To win without fighting, that is the mastry of war.

For comparison, Mirage IIIC was circa 7200 kg, or 16 000 Ibs.

I can see why these datas would be false, maybe because public firms were overly optimistic... don't forget that the SO-4060 prototype was never finished, and the SO-4062 was a -paper- naval variant
Maybe we should had some hundred pounds, 1000 Ibs maybe ? (450 kg)

On the other hand, after the 4060M proved too heavy, SO did his best to cut down weight on the 4062 (I think they sacrificed some internal fuel to keep weight down). It's a bit similar to the process followed by Lockheed on the F-35 recently  :rolleyes:

Don't know if the Mirage G could replace the Cyclone in service at the end of the 60s ?
in this case it would give the following lineage of naval interceptors (from Centaurs, 1953-1963 then from CVFA)
- Sea Vixen 1954-1961
- Cyclone 1960-1974
- Mirage G "Tomkitty" from 1973

Does it sounds good ?

King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

We all want to see more artwork of the Super Vautour especially of the heavy fighter & night fighter variants
 hunting down Tu-95 Bears & Tu-22M Backfires in the sky with 30mm cannons
4 heat seeking 4 medium range & 4 long range radar seeking air to air missiles.
