BAe-146ski?

Looks a bit like the BAe-146 variant that was proposed with 2 CFM-56 engines.

I think the second pic is the An-148, the An-158 having a five metre stretch over the former.  If they're based on similar design principles to the 146 they might fill the niche filled by it now that it's no longer in production.

Back in the late 90's I remember meeting the Ukrainian Industry minister and he was quite keen to investigate licence production of the 146. I must admit with the troubles BAE was having building them at the time I thought it was a pretty good idea.

Very simila, yet nowhere near as asthetic looking as the old -146 ! That hump on the fuselage joing the wing looks like an afterthought.

But it's typical Antonov, or even just Russian. They all seem to like the wings mounted well above the fuselage, perhaps to avoid a spar bump in the ceiling?

Most likely reason. If you want to make a transport out of it that extra space could be handy.

This aircraft was derived from the An-72, which would explain the high wing.
