After a year of trying to get a date pinned down and my paperwork done I got to spend a couple days on base at CFB Cold lake.

Do you mean the titles surrounding the fuselage roundel? That doesn't seem to be 'normal' for other CF-18s (including other 408 TFS aircraft).

That's it. The titles have been gone for a decade at least.

The rest of the markings were "standard".
