I'm using the Triang Midland Blue Pullman 00 gauge power car (56449) and dummy power car(56480)  painted in umber brown RC 415 Humbrol Acrylic with a hairy brush freehand. The plastic white window surrounds will remain the same.
As this represents the earlier Cream Tea Express service the fronts of the two units will remain umber brown as the latter units had the yellow fronts.
I intend to buy several pairs of dummy power cars which will be cut and glued to create passenger coaches of my own design.
The British Rail decals along with Pullman decals will be applied with a few touched up details.
This doesn't represent any real world Pullman service just an idea.
This could lead to other liveries being applied including a Hogwarts Express.

Whilst having a rummage I came across a tin of Humbrol enamel 10 brown gloss paint. I have applied the first coat with a hairy brush this morning.

I found some other paint

I'm rather pleased on how this is turning out, it seems that I have my nerves under control when painting freehand.
One of those projects I can save for a rainy day. I have an idea to create a buffet car instead of the restaurant cars that they would have used. Besides the layout that I have in mind can't accommodate the full set unless I can make the coaches smaller, not ideal in the secondhand market but bespoke for me.
It might be two or three months before I get to do any whiffery but at least my layout will have a permanent base, back to work soon, think about the stash.I can start a new one.

I've decided to go with the yellow front ends but I have continued the line as far as the driver's handrails. There's a bit of touching up to do, the roof and replacing the windows that I removed.
I'm thinking of creating the interior crew compartment with figures to match. I might be able to use the Hornby Junior Paddington coach and change the couplings plus paint scheme or just repaint it.

Some of the inspiration for the paint scheme has come from the Grey/Blue Pullman and the umber/cream schemes that were used during the 1960's to 1970s.
The stickers from the Wizarding World 'Paint your own Hogwarts Castle ' set have been added from two kits which means that the power car and the dummy power car both carry the Hogwarts Castle name plates and locomotive number, they also have the white Pullman lettering below the first double grill of the engines. A few more details will be added along with the glazing at a later date.
The imperfections don't look too out of place reflecting the weathering that would have taken place if this was in actual service.
Photos to follow.

The two Triang Pullman number 79 coaches have arrived. One has been modified and has careering staff whilst the other is  missing a buffer stop and some internal glazing.
I have altered the windows and painted the bodyshells the same colour as the power car. They will need a second coat of paint. The roof will be painted gun metal and the white Pullman decals added later.
