Beaufighter ASR Query

Hey Guys, a Question just Popped into my Head:Was the Bristol Beaufighter Ever Used for ASR Duty during World War 2? just Something i Wondered about because the Type was Used for Anti-Shipping among Other things. What Say You? Thanks for looking.Dan

I've seen one with yellow / black target-tow stripes underneath -- make it a Mk.X & replace the thinble nose with a prone observer position, radar pod on belly at front with small lifeboat just aft of that. Keep the uper guner-pos. for another observer.
