Testors (Italeri rebox) 1/72 F-16

The kit was fighting me towards the end, but its finished.  Not as good as I had hoped, but still happy to have it on my shelf.

The kit gave the option of building a A or B model, but I decided on the latter since I know two seaters will not be as common among my future builds.  Decals are homemade, AGM-65s and AIM-9Js are from the Hasegawa weapons set.  Drop tanks were kindly provided by Fellanoid at ARC.  The kit was given a Pro Modeller wash as well.

The base was made from plastic sheet and a wood base from Hobby Lobby.  You can't see it, but self adhesive felt was added to the underside.  The plastic sheet was painted with Rustoleum texture paint, scribed, painted with Testors Canadian Voodoo Gray and then given a Pro Modeller wash.  The wood base was stained with Min Wax and then given a poly urethane coating.

Last but not least, inspiration for the build provided by Trigger's concept from the ARC Whif thread Link

Enjoy

Man, we should have cloned twenties. Jackson wouldn't have given a poo-poo.

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Mossie

Yeah, that's nice!  What's the backstory???
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Spey_Phantom

looks great, love tha camo

-all kinds of things.

Looks good.
I know what you mean about the kit.  I built the Testors version as a Thunderbirds and it just didn't like me.
I love the 16 and want to do real world builds for every country that flies them but got to pick a better set of kits before I go there.

Cuba never went communist and they decide to procure some F-16s.  Also, the airframe # 78-0374 shows that Israel wasn't the only country to accept part of the cancelled Iranian F-16 order.

That is a superb model, and what looks to be a flawless paint scheme.

Nice paintjob.  Who knows, it might come to pass.  Afterall, we have Czech & Hungarian Gripens and Polish F-16's.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

Thanks for the compliments guys!
