Ken Duffey (aka Flankerman) has created several remarkable models over the years including a scratch built 1/72nd scale WIG that was really impressive (not a WHIF).  Today he posted a couple of interesting subjects on ARC with additional links to pages on his own web site:

The first up is his 1/72nd scale F-17A Flankercat (WHIF U.S. Navy Su-27) which is available for viewing on his own page as well as over on ARC at this link

The second item was mentioned later on in the above ARC discussion topic with an image and a link to additional images as well as a description of the build at this link for Ken's Sukhoi T12 bomber

He made a 1/72nd scale wig  what sort of "hair" did he use for it, and what/who was it to be furnished with
Hmmm? I suppose it would look a bit more realistic than the moulded in hair on the plastic soldiers.

This is a very good whif, although I nearly soiled myself upon seeing the Wolfpack colors on a Russian jet. ;)

This USN Su-27 is just wonderful! (but why call it an F-17 when this already exists?)

F-24 would be my choice  Combo of Flanker and Tomcat...and the next after the YF-23 too!

What is with this whining?  The guy makes a really nice looking model and you all take umbrage with what he uses for a designation?

You are getting to be as bad as the Star Wars and Star Trek fanboys/fangirls with this canon/non-canon attitude.

I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Don't get me wrong, I love the work he's done! It's just that I have that problem with finding a mis-designated aircraft believable. I need the story, designations and other details to be as close to reality as possible so I can really enjoy the stuff to the full... Yeah I know I'm strange...

I'm sure you simply love the F-35 designation then...

Well, you said it.
