I was thinking today (which is a problem I know) about my first ever wargames terrain project, and the idea I had a while back of rebuilding it (I threw it out due to a total lack of awareness of it's vast historical importance). I'm intending to build on as I did then (ie: badly!) and another version of the same project using my modern methods, skills and materials. The old version could be a challenge as it involved film canisters, and the digital camera sort of removed those from my parts stashes and sources...

Has anyone else ever done this; revisited their first model, or one of their first models and done the whole 'this is how I would do it today, this is how I did it then' sort of thing?
Am I totally befuddled or did we once have a GB based on this proposed? Did I propose it? Has my mind gone?

I think a lot of my projects are re-working kits I built as a boy:

1/72 Revell Nieuport 28

1/72 Revell SPAD XIII

1/72 Revell Fokker triplane

1/72 Revell Fokker D VII

1/72 Monogram Curtiss P-36

1/72 Matchbox Boeing P-12E

1/72 Matchbox He 70

1/72 Matchbox Hawker Fury biplane

looks like there's a trend here...

seven words for you:

warp storm up armour custom ver. Ka.

I have 2x resin K36D ejector seats and toilet ventilator cover thingees are readily available at all good hardware stores.
Note to everyone else: PW built the original warpstorm IV (its a space ship like device) out of toilet rolls (minus teh paper) disposable cups, straws and practically any other household plastic item which water based paints wouldn't stick too.
We actually started rebuilding it ages ago from PVC pipe and stuff

The Original WSIV can be seen here. It was commanded by Cap'n Flint Thunder. Because a man willing to fly such a terrible machine would need an awesome name with hair on it's chest.

And I still have the bits of the Up Armor V.Ka on my desk at the parental house.
Should just mention that the toilet vent end cap thingeees are actually NOT available anymore, they ahve changed shape >:(
