Gotta give Airfix/Hornby credit, they're doing a brilliant job in terms of marketing/publicity - the new packaging, James May, now this.

Sales of Airfix kits plummeted in the 1980s, and GCSEs had to be made easier as a result - James May

No such thing as a UK Modeler.  We have 2 Ls.   ;D
The future's so bright, I gotta wear NVGs...

This may be where all the Airfix Spitfires are going because we cannot get any from them for work, we could sell so many but we have none and none are in sight ......strange isn't it
Everything looks better with the addition of British Roundels!

They want us to build a Spitfire in 1/2 a day? (There are two sessions, morning and afternoon....)

They're hardly going for the 'quality' end of the builder market, are they???
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Look at the times - they actually want you to build a Spitfire in two hours....

Wonder if you can take your own tools and paint or do you have to use what they provide?

Easy!  More than enough time to glue it & slap some acrylic on, although you might struggle to get the decals on before the paint dries!  Slap the kit together quickly, then take it home & finish it properly later.

Definately no room for AMS!  And that may be the point, I think it's a good oppurtunity for kids to have a go rather than the pullovers still living with their Mums.  Great idea from Airfix & the RAF Museum.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
