Inspired by the "Never Retired" Group Build, I thought it might be fun to see what a 23rd century Huey might look like.

In the mid 1980's, several helicopters  were put into storage at NASA's Ames research center at Moffet  Field and mostly forgotten. Almost a century later, when the ESA, NASA, and several other space agencies combined to form the United Earth Space Probe Agency, later known simply as Starfleet , these aircraft were rediscovered. Realizing their potential as training aircraft for future shuttle pilots, they were refurbished and put back into service, flying with a variation of their old NASA livery until the 2270's. This particular aircraft, the Bell UH-1 Iroquois, was piloted  by future Enterprise helmsman Hikaru Sulu.

FANTASTIC!

I have plans to do a T-33 at some point as a Starfleet bird. Impulse engine in place of the jet and transporter pattern enhancers on the extremeties. The idea being that in case of emergencies the whole bird can be beamed to safety... but only after the crew ride the bang seats. :)

Love the idea... and Hikaru did say he remembered the old Huey.

No! No! It was Mr. Sulu that flew it. He said so.

Alle kunst ist umsunst wenn ein engel auf das zundloch brunzt!!

Sic biscuitus disintegratum!

Cats are not real.
They are just physical manifestations of collisions between enigma & conundrum particles.

Any aircraft can be improved by giving it a SHARKMOUTH!

It's been around  a while so both could have used it at one point or another.

Nice one! And I do not doubt for a day that the venerable Huey will be flying long into the future.
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.
