Some of Blackburn's big flying boats were quite pretty (Iris, Perth etc). As for ugly, the French came up with some designs that were far worse.

From that lot, my favourites are the Qatari(?) Hunter and the flying boats.
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

I really like the shot of all the props parked in front of the "Beware of Jet Blast" sign. Thanks for posting these Dork. It's a real treat for those of us across the pond.

Radish

They were on the Quarter Scale Stand.....their post-war USN/USMC display. Next year it's "World War Two Bombers", starting at the Hinckley Show in April. I'm contributing an A-20C (most likely RAAF)...attrition replacement for the original A-20s. I might do something else. Depends what's "in stock"....not a lot of 1/48th now!!

Anyone got photos of "Biggles Goes To Telford"??
I'm starting to write the stories.

Stumbling through life.

The "retro SLUF" was built by Brian Payne, a member of Quarter Scale Group that I've "corrupted". He also built a RAF Tiffie....remember the BAe Typhoon in retro-WW2 markings from a couple of years ago? I'm not sure what's next on his daft plan....he only builds whiffs occasionally, but enjoys the humour immensly.

You and me both Sandy.

Wouldn't the Whiffies go over well at this venue?

The dH 106 Comet is 72 scale and started life as an Airfix Nimrod - a guy at my model club made it.  He made the fuselage and wings as seperate items, finished and painted - then he joined them together. That is crafsmanship of the highest order. I'm trying to remember who said you couldn't make a Comet from a Nimrod - don't think it was on this forum.
