I always thought it was best describing the Monogram / LORAL version. Didn't it mention its rounded wings with drooping tips or something? as to why it was called the 'frisbee'?

Did anyone else ever think that the stealth plan in "Red Storm Rising" was the Testor's version?
Rounded wings with droopy wingtips goes back to a 1981 or 1982 issue of National Geographic with an article on stealth that emphasizes those two features; the "stealth bomber" depicted there looks laughable compared to the real one.

Does anyone know the F118 turbofan's diametre and length?

Or can I just make the fuselage roughly the same width with a B-2 engine pod if I want to make a version of the F-19 in 3D?

Those are just the pics I was talking about.  ;D

(Well I did find them at another forum, not here in particular.)

I'll check in detail tomorrow when I can access the AW&ST database from work, but you can figure on it being similar to the F101 and F110 in diameter since it's part of the same family of engines.

How large of the weapons bay size in a fuselage described in the Loral materials be (or is it big enough to accomodiate two GBU-27s and two AMRAAMs)?

(Asking for two GBU-27s AND two AIM-7s- because the Loral materials mentioned the missiles- might be a bit much?)

Think the F118 is a F110 without the afterburner.
More or less, they're very similar dimensionally, but the F118 fan is designed to take a far, far higher level of inlet distortion than the F110 fan is designed for.

I was considering a load-out of a production ground-attack versions of the LTV ALVRJ supplemented by a couple, at least, Northrop ND-1 dispenser missiles.
