TwoSix decals - how to use them?

I've got a decalsheet from TwoSix for a VC-10 I'm working on. They don't supply any instructions, but the decals look a bit different to bog standard ones: every decal I've used, has a small transparent border around it. This sheet doesn't, so I'm wondering: do I need to apply a layer of varnish or somesuch to the sheet before using it? I don't want the decals to fall apart.

Hobbes,

I don't think so, I've used quite a few TwoSix sheets and as I recall they have an overall decal film. That needs the 'sharp knife and keen eye' approach to trim the decals down. They're excellent quality and they do stuff that others don't go anywhere near.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

I've attempted to use two of his airliner decals, and frankly, neither one of them fit worth a damn.  Cheatlines that wrapped around the nose and tail were comical in their un-fit.  And yes, the decals are printed on a continuous clear carrier film.

Thanks for the info and the warning. I've been testfitting the decals (I made a copy of the decalsheet) and you're right, the cheatlines are too long.
