A long time ago in a galaxy Far, far...no wait...it was totally this one.

ANYWAY...

A couple of years ago I ordered the JAG Models 1/700 Stealth Carrier.  It is ridiculously sweet.

http://jagcollective.com/STEALTH.htm

Excellent moldings, the detail is just superb.  But, when I got mine, the flight deck was by about 1/8".  It was too small, and it was looking like I was going to have to do major surgery to the amazing clear etched deck to make it fit properly.  I promptly shelved and forgot about it.

We're getting ready to move, so I figured I'd contact JAG and find out if I could buy a new flight deck.  "No" said Tom of JAG.  "Ship it to us and we'll give you a brand new kit with a better fitting deck instead."  Well okay then.

I shipped it off, Tom contacted to me to let me know he'd gotten the kit and that it was indeed one of the earlier ones where the resin for the ship hadn't shrunk as they'd expected, hence, ill-fitting deck.  He'd grabbed a more recent kit with a better fit and then casually asked what I modeled, and I told him modern and What-if.

A package arrived with the new ship, the deck now a perfect fit.  Inside was a nice note, apologizing for the fit of the first kit, and stating that he'd "thrown in some bits to help with my modern and what-if modeling"...

So I pulled out the EIGHT sets of bits...

2 SeaRAM, 2 CIWS, 2 Sea Knights, 2 SatComms...

My non-model building wife blinked twice and said "Remember how I said you shouldn't buy more models?  That no longer applies to JAG."

Every step of the way, Tom and JAG have been awesome.  I went in to this just hoping to buy a better flight deck, and they went well beyond the call of good customer service into stellar.

Thats excellent customer service.

Now what you could do with asking about is seeing if you can get more of the F-32 style airwing as those are ideal Whiff fodder

Funny you should mention that, I might have some info on that front in a little bit.  ;)

Okay, so here was the news I mentioned.  I spoke with Tom over at JAG (I also told him he should join our little group of lunatics since he is currently working on a trimaran cruiser himself!) and he said that if anyone wants the complete airwing; that's the F-32s, the Seahawks, and the V-22 Ospreys, with their photoetched brass set, the airwing will run you 30 bucks (+shipping I'm assuming).
