At it again. This time with the Blue Thunder helicopter.

In the movie you see aircraft #2 "Blue Thunder", what happened to #1??

Here is my take on that scenario...she's got a little ways to go yet, but she's getting there.

Enjoy

This is interesting --- I never saw the movie but was the Blue Thunder based on a Gazelle or something ?
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

I don't believe it Kitnut! Never seen Blue Thunder? How very dare you! And yes it was based on a Gazelle, quite hard to fly IIRC, very nose heavy and also used in cockpit close ups in Firefox (masquerading as a Mil Mi24 Hind A).

More beauty shots

I painted the engine and added the international day-glow orang to the rotor tips and to the vertical fin to show it as a test aircraft.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Me, I'm dishonest, and you can always trust a dishonest man to be dishonest.
Honestly, it's the honest ones you have to watch out for!!!

Love it.

Found another explanation of the Gazelle/applique thing on Cybermodeler, in a kit review of the Aoshima retooling:
