This is very cool.  Like a perfect extrapolation into the future.  I tried a similar "future SAAB" idea once but yours is a much better concept.
Honestly, the reason it was called JAS 59 had to do with the donor kits.  JAS 39 Grippen + F20 Tigershark= JAS 59 Kraaken (given the SAAB naming trend).

And what would be the actual meening of the word KRAAKEN, it has no direct correlation in swedish?
Old Norse Mythology.  The beast was supposed to inhabit the waters near Sweden.
Drakken= Dragon, Viggen= Thunderbolt, Grippen= Griffon.  It stands to reason that the next aircraft would have the name of some mythical beast.  Could have called it FENRIR, but that sounded more like a missile system.  Besides, I couldn't resist "Release the Kraaken!" as the punchline (I must admit to have been watching the original CLASH OF THE TITANS at the time- hopefully the recycled product coming out next month will be watchable.

Aha, your talking about a Krake (Kraken in defined form singular). A beast that steams from Norwegian and Icelandic fisherman tales, basically an oversized squid. I don't think it has much to do with norse mythology.

Nice model though.
