CRB checks are necessary in my opinion.Only for certain jobs that is...and I agree it is ridiculous that if you do more than one activity involving children or vulnerable adults that more than one check is needed. The trouble is that there is so much panic about "paedos" being everywhere-when in fact most abuse of children is by family or friends of the child's family.
The loss of the make and take is sad indeed.

before any one starts screaming abuse at the exsec for knocking the make and take on the head. I had a chat with el prez at the southern expo, and it was mentioned to me then. Each member of the exsec asked their own MP's local police, social services ect (and the home Office) to clarify where the society stood, and got a differnt reply from every one asked. So rather than take a risk that some jobs worth in the Telford area might disagree with the advice from the home office et all, the make and take has been put aside until the law can be 100% clarified.

As this is last years show thread and I dont want to see the exsec get bashed for something beyond their control, admis lock this thread down
