A new one to add to the 'special' titles.  Amazon says it's due out Febuary 2010.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Mine was pre-ordered for my Birthday, I'll be looking out for it in the post in the next week.

Just got it this afternoon.  Initial impressions are mixed.  The first thing I noticed was when the postie gave me it was that felt lighter than the rest of the series (I've got all except the Luftwaffe books).  It's 144 pages, the only other title as short is the Lufwaffe Bombers book.  On flicking through the book, there seems to be a lot of stuff based on well known projects (not quite 'secret') along with some recycling from the Flying Suacer book & the other titles.

The six chapters are listed by nations, one of British, one of German WWII, one of Soviet, three of US (spanning 1935 to 2030!).  I know that pretty much covers it & there are tiny snippets, but a final chapter covering other nations would have been welcome.  There's little on pure-delta winged aircraft which are tailess by their nature.

I admit that part of it is me, as I've got into R&D there's less that's new or captures my imagination.  I'll give it some more attention, but I can help feel a little dissapointed by it.

I got my copy today as well, and my thoughts are just the same as Mossie's. It seems a bit lightweight compared to the previous books in the series, but then it's limited by the subject of course.

I don't understand why, if the Skyray is included, how come the Vulcan isn't? Or the F-102, F-106, B-58 etc? Very odd, and there's no mention at all of the various tailless GA and glider types that have been built.

Judgement : Could do better........
