Does anybody know if Polar Lights has already released their USS Thunderchild AKIRA Class Star Trek model yet? If not, then when? I've checked a few sites on the Net and I keep seeing "To be released soon.". I called my local hobby store today to see if they could pre-order one, but the information they got was that it said the kit was discontinued? The model is 1/1000 scale and I think the kit # is PLL815. I really want this kit bad as I may buy 2-3 of them. One to build as is, and the other one or two to kitbash into a super armed Star Trek ship.
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Not sure about this but...You may want to check out www.monstersinmotion.com & see if they Have it or sign up for their E Newsletter & get word when it comes out. hope this helps. Dan

From the Round 2 blog - the Akira probably won't be out for a long time.
