What to do with the Apollo 27?

Just saw Sotoolslinger's build using this kit and got me thinking. Also just sent a review to IPMS/USA for a new sci-fi dio book that has a neat Dan Dare Dad's build of this kit.



Was thinking of my own point defense version of this kit in US WWII markings or something 50's or 60's ish.

So, what other ideas do you lot have for this kit?

Anyone else changing the engine pylons?
I am hoping to make them more solid, maybe even aerodynamic (for leaving atmosphere).

Also toying that if I go Point Defense, will need some weapons.  Maybe convert the pods (2 or all 4) into weapons pods and just have the main engine.
