Hey Guys, i was just surfing Google when a Question hit me. Had the SM-62 Snark ever been looked at as a Large Drone or For any Other Role besides an Air Breathing Cruise Missile? i saw a Few Snark Models while looking through a Local Store and am Cosidering Buying one,Thought i might do it as a Drone or for some kind of 'Gerry Anderson' Style Weapon. What Say You? Thanks for looking.Dan

I bought one for just that reason - another canvas in my 'what's that droning noise' period.
There's a thread over on ARC with several nicely-built box-scale kits from that era, and now I'm dying for a Regulus too!

One thing that you should be aware of before you rush off after a Snark though, it's barnacles-ville with rivets, and the positions of the national markings and stencils are raised lines on the plastic. Be prepared for lots of PSSR (putty, sand, swear, repeat.)

Didn't Alvis build a manned fighter from a Snark once? Could've sworn I've seen something like that somewhere. Nicknamed "the Ogre", for swallowing people whole with that big intake.
Cheers,

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Well, there was the proposed XRSM-62 reconnaissance version, with 6 cameras mounted in the nose. That's how I plan on building my Snark model., in "operational" markings.
