"Get him up flying . . . Soon!" Aka The F-14 Rehab Thread

 Hiya Guys,


Remember me telling y'all about my run-in with a Drunk? The night that happened I was on my way home for the local competition in Baton Rouge, and I was bringing a couple of models to enter. Well I got both kits back, but one of 'em took some flak damage:




Some of y'all might remember this one from the 1 Week GB a few years back. In the wreck the left wing got clipped pretty good, the stores and left taileron came off clean, and there's some peeling of the paint on the underside of the left wing:




So now it's time to see if I can get this thing somewhat back to it's original condition.

The better part of yesterday was spend letting the CA fully cure in all the repaired areas, plus the patches of Dk. Ghost Grey dry:





And a close-up of the affected wing:




I also moved the pylon for the Deep Throat from the centerline to where I actually think it would be in real life, either station 2 or 4, where the TARPS pod would normally be or the one ahead of it.

Well the ol' girl held up really well, I'd thought that it would have been in a gizillion pieces!
