I may be wrong but it looks o be fantasy.  At first I thought it may have been the HMS Lion class, but it has an extra set of main guns.

I am sure this was planned for the Free Scottish Navy in 1939, but other considerations took over.

looks more German than British. It might be based on one of the Bismark follow up projects

The hull shape is very Bismarck, I must say. The tower/mast is from the Richelieu/Jean Bart, I think, and the funnel looks similar to the Lexington/Saratoga. Definitely not British.

That secondary turret on top of the forward superstructure, for a start. A very heavy thing, very high up on the ship. Big issues there with weight, with ammunition supply, with armour, etc. Triple-barrelled secondary turrets would be horribly cramped and extremely difficult to fight in. Large-calibre secondaries, in large triple mounts down the sides of the ship mean that a) they're useless against aircraft, thus requiring a tertiary battery for AA work, b) they will use up an awful lot of topweight, c) they - and their associated barbettes, magazines, handling rooms, shell hoists etc - will take up a huge volume inside the centre of the ship, that therefore cannot be used for machine spaces, resulting in a slow ship.
