Bort Number Q

Hey Guys, are Bort Numbers the Numbers you see on Fighter Planes,Etc.? didn't know they were Called that. Could Anyone tell me how they came to be Called Bort Numbers? thanks for looking.Dan

I think its the ID numbers on Russian/Warpac aircraft, eg "bort 34 blue"; the origin maybe Russian but I don't know for sure?

Correct. Incidentally 'Bort' is Board in English so a literal translation is 'Board Number'..Hope this helps
