These are two Vipers I've been working on for the last weeks. The first Viper is the #5 aircraft used by the United Colonial Air Force's flight demonstration team, the Lancers. The Lancers formed just shortly after the first Cylon war using surplus mk.1 Vipers ( named after a legendary allied forces atmospheric fighter from the Tauron War) for only a year before switching to the newer mk.IV. This one of course is based on the Revell kit.

This mk.II is the recently released Moebius kit. During the final years of the 1st Cylon War, UCAF vipers were painted with an experimental paint technique intended to help break up the fighter's outline and also confuse Cylon IR sensors due to a special property of the paint's composition, which was better known as ATOC or Advanced Thermal and Optical Camouflage. ATOC was later used on both ground and space based mk. VII's.

Just picked up my Moebius Viper Mk II's yesterday...what did you think of them?
Looking forward to their Centurian and BG kits, too!

Nice Vipers!

What was the Moebius kit like to build?

The Moebius Viper is an awesome kit and one that I will probably build again; the fit and detailing is great except for the fact that it was based on the full scale viper mock up which had no RCS thrusters and the ones in the kit are just decals.  On the hand,  the pilot is resin, which is always a plus.
