Last weekend was the Midland expo held is Birmingham.

The SIG had a stand, run my myself, Trevor (Howard of Effingham) and Richard Brooker.

The photos I took can be found on this page http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y22/martinhiggs/Birmingham%20show%202011/

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Its now a smaller show compared to its old self at the old Halesowen venue.
for a first attempt in the new venue, it was a good show. The traders wernt so happy thou. Plenty of people browsing but not so many buying. The venue is good, parking is adequate, food was good but the venue will need to increase stocks for next year.

Of course there where a few glitches, but you expect that for a host club just getting back into the show organising game.
I always hope for the best.

:)
sounds like a plan to me.

In truth, sometimes having less on the tables looks better.
Plus we brits cheat. Some of us cycle our models through the show circuit. A year or more doing the rounds then into deep storage as a new build comes on stream, then dusted off and reappears for another round of shows 3-4 years later. Or held in reserve just in case there are gaps in the display that need filling.

That diving harrer was on the IPMS Rutland stand, its the badge of the RAF Cottesmore diving club.  ;D
I always hope for the best.

Nice Display.

And even though I am not a drinker, wouldn't a Dalak make a great Stein?

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Wasn't this show at the Midland Air Museum in the past? Change of venue or did I get my wires crossed somewhere (not unlikely, mind)?

It Used to be the Halesowen show run by the two Birmingham based IPMS branches, i think the SIG only manged one or two shows there when Martin & myself put on a display due to a none show as we just happend to have stuff with us (including cloths !). However its May date does effect the turnout as being early summer there are plenty of other distractions for the public than wandering round a model show on a sunny day  :-\
