Supertanker as a Submarine Carrier

Hey Guys, What If someone built  or Converted a Supertanker into a Submarine Carrier like Featured in a 'James Bond' Movie? would this be a Worthy Idea for a WHIF? just something that Came into my Head just now. What Say You? Thanks for looking. Dan

Don't see why not - sounds a fun idea!

Rather than the bow doors seen in the movie, it might be better to have the submarine surface inside the ship. The latter is, in effect, a floating dock disguised to look like a supertanker. You can certainly have submarine-sized moon-pools in ships: the USN built the Glomar Explorer to recover a Russian sub that went down in the Pacific:

A container ship might be a better bet than a tanker, since the pile of containers above deck level could be used to conceal all sorts of functions. That new Revell kit is an obvious contender.

One issue with a model (assuming a moon poll rather than bow doors) would be how to display it: you'd have to do something like put it on a suspended sheet of clear plastic with a sub model underneath it....
