I love Matchbox GB

I might be interested in this one.  I've got a few Matchbox kits in the stash, Hawk 200, Lysander & Meteor NF.12/14 (although I've misplaced this & probably won't build it even if I find it) in original boxes & a Victor & Sopwith Camel in Revell boxes.

I've been thinking about converting the Lizzie into the Westland P.12 (tandem wing Lizzie with rear turret) & the Camel into the Sopwith Swallow (monoplane version of the camel) for some time.  The Victor might possibly be Indian, I'm not sure what to do with the Hawk 200.  Won't build them all of course!

One of my very first posts here was a Matchbox G91Y in Spanish AF camo/markings another early one was my West German Lightning, which can still be seen in Hunter-Gatherer Hall in the gallery section. If this ever goes ahead, I could be persuaded to build a two-seat Hawker Hunter..... quite easily !

Seattle area modeler Jim Schubert recently completed a conversion of the Eduard 1/48th Camel
into the Sopwith Scooter (the predecessor of the Swallow). It is a typical Schubert build.

Lovely Scooter model, but I don't think that Matchbox ever did a Camel.
Or is the stress of Real Life - or possibly too much Harviestoun "Bitter & Twisted" - beginning to affect my memory ?

Oooh yes please - when?  I'd prefer the back end of this year but will go with the flow.  I have a built up Matchbox classis bought at Telford for a couple of quid a couple of years ago that I have a Master Plan for (including the name), so if this GB gets the go ahead I'm in!!


PS - just remembered an old Mattchbox Hunter that can be cross-kitted with the remains of a built up (well that'd be saying, wouldn't it).
