I have the book Aircraft Archive Post War Jets Volume 3, which was originally put out by Argus Books in 1988. In the book, there are a set of TSR2 drawings by B. Hygate. Does anybody know if these drawings are accurate, especially the cross-sections? I was hoping on using them to "accurize" my 1/48 TSR2 kit.
TIA

the drawings appear to be based upon a BAC source drawing for outline and sections with added detail from the actual airframes, i reckon they are probably the most accurate ones avaliable (watch out for any losses at the page fold tho!)

hoping this helps, cheers, joe

Thanks Joe, I was told to ask you, as you're the expert on that plane.
I will carefully pull the pages apart, so I (hopefully) have a seamless drawing.
Cheers,
Larry

I can vouch for Barrie's drawings generally. He's a nice guy and very talented with CAD programs.

Hygate's drawings are probably the most accurate ones commonly available, but they still have some errors. Most of all the panel lines. They aren't always in the right position and the shape of panels and the also the shape of the cockpit glazing are suspect. The cross-sections are indeed based on the BAC drawings and as a result they're pretty good. So use these drawings with caution and study photos of the real thing (preferably the Cosford one, as the Duxford one is rather dodgy in places!) to make sure you get it all right.
