Was tempted to join in using one of the propossed Jean Bart missile ship conversions describbed in the recent French Battleships books, however as Proditor is going with a carrier hybrid i thought i should find something different.

So after checking references and musing ideas bassed on whats avialable kit wise i have now scaled up drawings for the propossed 1960s french carrier design PA-58 'Verdun' ?. This was an enlarged PA-54 'Foch' design, intended to handle  a greater number and variety of Aircraft as the Foch class was found to be too small for the next generation of naval aircraft that were in development.

Should go rather nicely with the CVA-01 build i did last year, as its of a similiar size and era, although a bit more conservative in design.

I was thinking of cutting down and adjucting a 1/720 Forrestal kit to create the hull, but i think i shall need to go with the usual scratch built hull so i can get a stronger hull and a nominal hanger deck. Will start marking up plastic card and assmebling the block that will act os the hull this weekend if i can.
