Hmm... One of the possible ways of surviving a "thousand-missile salvo" is designing & installing a ECM shield/force shield where the ECM suite provides a 360-degree standoff protection as when those missiles are coming towards you, your ECM system would electronically fry any missile entering the protective zone with a good amount of EMP

Maybe test the thing out on an useless, unmanned aircraft or ground asset to make sure it works .
