Just another two crazy ideas from me for possible buildup in the future. ;) Comments and suggestions appreciated.

Went to a local hobby store on Monday and couldn't resist buying some Gundam model kits. :D I love Gundam kits. The more armament they have on them, the better I like it.  ;D Anyway, I bought two Gundam H-Arms Custom kits ($12 each, 1/144th scale) because I liked the cool look of the gatling guns and all the missile pods. So here's my ideas:

Build a WHIF future Army air defense tank utilising two (4?) gatling parts, plus some of the mini missile pods from the Gundam. The gatling guns in the pic are just sitting on top of the Abrams part for scale reference. Not sure they're the appropriate size for an air defense system, but I think they'd be cool nonetheless.

The second idea I had was to possibly build a IOWA class space battleship, but use the gatling gun parts and missile pods instead of the normal 16" gun turrets.
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Both concepts have potential, but I find myself favoring the AD vehicle.  If the tank is 1/35, then the Gatling barrels scale out to 30-40mm, which is excessive if you're going to use all four, but perfectly acceptable for a future/scifi system.

If I do the ADV tank, I'd like to base it on some of the vehicle designs I've seen in some old Battletech/Mechwarrior technical manuals. Does anybody know some good links that show designs and schematics of Battletech tanks and vehicles?

The illustrations are a little limited, but I found this BattleTech Wiki:

It's broken down by Clans and also by vehicle type.  I remember in BT that wheeled and tracked vehicles were considered to be marginal compared to mechs, but in a scenario with no walking machines, some of these seem pretty formidable.
