Redesigned A-5 Vigilante

My new Idea for the A-5 Vigilante is that it should be redesigned semi stealth attack aircraft with General Electric F110 engines, F-15's Cockpit ,and New alloy. The redesigned Vigilante would be a Close air support, ground attack, and a strike Bomber. It could use a Gatling gun with 2,200 rounds and needs New Avionics like a Laser tracker pound.

What do you think of my Idea?

In practical 1:1 scale terms that's a BIG wing for a close in, ground attack aircraft of that weight. While it's around the same wing area as a TSR2 the aircraft is less than half the weight. The low level ride for the crew would be pretty rough.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I've always thought that the rear cockpit glazing could be increased and twin tail fins instead of the single fin. Perhaps add a gun muzzle above the nose cone.

I agree with kit, a bit big and wrong shape for close air support as we understand it.  Not a straffing, CAS, machine.

Now as an updated strike bomber, that sounds super. Strike eagle type canopy, updated engines, new avionics, .....splendid.  Forget the gun.  Have her as a fast penetrator. As Captain says, there are lots of Vigilante fans.

I could be wrong, but I think Jose Fern did a profile for a stealthy Vigilante.
Looked like a cross between an A-5 and a YF-23, IIRC.

EDIT: Found it!

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Agreed. My interest in aircraft usually stops about 1948 or so but there are a few latter types I find attractive and/or quirky enough to peek my interest and the Vigilante is one. Like to see her as an updated strike aircraft.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

It does look good, but other than the name the only Vigilante thing I see remaining is a hint on the hump, landing gear location and the the tail cone/weapons door...

A V/STOL version would look good. Something similar to the F-35 or Yak-38 layout in lifting engines behind the cockpits.
