The Booze Moose Flying Boat was put together specifically for smuggling Canadian produced alcoholic drinks into the USA over the heads of the US Coast Guard and Border Guards during prohibition. For quite a while the fleet of seven aircraft flew across the border unopposed until late in March of 1929 when, just over a month after The Saint Valentines Day Massacre, the US Army Air Corps started air patrols over the Canadian frontier to stem the flow of booze.
By this time the Rum Running "Pirates Of The Air" had become famous in comic books, novels and even a radio show. After a near shoot-down over Lake Michigan the pirates decided to hire a group of mercenary seaplane pilots to fly escort for the Booze Moose flights in copied Curtis R3C-2(F) fighters built in the same secret factory that built the Booze Moose flying boats somewhere near Lake Ontario. All of this funded by US and Canadian gangsters until 1933 when US prohibition was repealed with the twenty-first amendment to the US Constitution.

Pic of the first scavenged parts.

Test paint with GW Shadow Grey, added a floor, extended the keel.

Added a fuselage section and blanked off cabin windows with putty and sanded down.

More putty-fu and made some cockpit seats.
