The Ultimate What If film

Have just rewatched the eagle has landed and I noted that they seem to highlight and explain the anachronisms rather than just painting it grey and slapping a Swastika on it

Their is an explanation for the E boat being a  British model
for how Devlin jumps from a two seat trainer
for why they are using a DC3

and I suspect that the dialogue about the steerable parachutes also covers something that wouldn't  have existed.

The only thing I wasn't sure wa sif the Halftrack with the tank turret was an actual model or just one mocked up.

You realise the plot was taken originally from a movie called "Went the day well?"

I knew they were similar and have seen went the day well but didn't realise their was a direct connection. Went the day well was a little harrowing in places.

Great movie though.  Plucky England at its best, seeing them Huns off with pluck and fortitude.  Well worth watching.  One of my favourite British propaganda movies.  Also the first which predicted the eventual defeat of the Germans.  In 1942, when things seemed darkest!  I might watch it again tonight!

Saw it again on Film 4 the other day, and you're right
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I did think that they could have done with some more music in the background. Especially after they're stuck in the church.

I wondered if Burrning bridges from Kelly's Heroes would have fitted there or there abouts given the theme.

Germans were definitely in love with the DC-3 in real life , Lufthansa flew its planes to Spain until France became too dangerous for any kind of German plane . I have the novel somewhere and it is specifically mentioned the German crew had flown DC-3s as civilians .

For the rest , especially the steerable parachute thingy , it is as plausible as German troops challenging Holocaust , but that wouldn't detract from the movie .

And sorry I have not read the OP fully , the DC-3 angle was already covered .
