I'm looking for a means of measuring a profile.  I know what I'm looking for, it consists of a series of pins which can be made slid in or out to conform to an object's profile.  However, I'm stuffed if I can remember what its called (if I've ever known its name).  Does anybody have any idea what I'm talking about?  :(
