Check it out guys!  And yes that's a scratch built torpedo in the first shot complete with wooden fin caps

The kit is the 1/144 Minicraft Bf-110C.  Its rather crude compared to some of their other offerings.  The only panel lines are the control surfaces and they look like they were cut with 5 mile wide shovel.  The MG/cannons cut into the nose are in the wring places as well but I'll live with them.  Even so I figured it would be a good trial build before I tackle Airfix's 1/72 110.  She's all ready for a coat of primer and then some RLM blues    Any ideas on how to fashion some shackles for the fish?

How far we've come....  Bf-110C and an EA-6B Prowler of the same scale.

Any questions, comments, ideas, etc... are appreciated as always.

Enjoy!

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Thanks Narses!  They really weren't as hard as they looked.  The wing was split with an upper and lower half BUT the lower half stopped right where I wanted to fold them!!!  The upper half had the outer edges complete so after a few swipes with my blade I had complete wingtips   After I noticed how the wings were molded I couldn't resist slicing them up

I know the wing fold hinges are grossly out of scale but in 1/144 how can they not be!  I made them out of HALF MILLIMETER round stock twisted around a toothpick to get them circular and then a hemostat and some quick setting CA glue to get them on.  The wing supports are made from the same stock although I used regular old Testor's tube glue for those as they required some "finessing" to get them in place.  Same went for the wing halves themselves.

Not sure when I'll come back to this one or not.  I just ordered the 3rd ship for a dio I'm building for my father for Christmas and as soon it gets here the bench is getting cleared and crunch time begins!  Who knew 3 1/700 Destroyers would take so long  :banghead:  But alas, I'll probably finish this one up while I wait for various ship parts to dry.  Until next time!
