So...last week in my recent spate of eBaying I won what was listed as a 'Junk Lot'.  The listing was described as 4 kits....Testors YF-12, Monogram F-18C, Matchbox Wellington, and Revell Ju88...It said that since it was a junk lot some parts may be missing or started.  Well it arrived today, and the YF-12 box contained half of the F-18 parts, a few car parts, and the YF-12 burner nozzles...no other YF-12 parts...given the description do you guys think it's fair to contact the seller to complain about the accuracy of the listing?

I knew and accepted the 'junk' factor, but to me when he listed a YF-12 junk kit, it needs to have more than the engine exhausts to be legit...

Your opinions?

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Well i would list it as a "been started model" parts missing, all my old kits are full kits. I sell at swap and sell meets, any parts missing i keep for my self. I would never sell junk kits... but would maybe buy won?

I just dont think it's a particularly accurate listing to list something as started possibly with parts missing when it's only TWO parts from the kit you're listing...hell I have an attic full of boxes with a few unused parts from builds...I would never list them as whole kits if I were to sell them though...I'd list it as random parts.

With me, it'd depend on how much I paid for it, plus S&H.  If it's over like $10, I'd complain by leaving neutral feedback.  If you paid over $20, I'd leave negative.

I emailed the guy...just expressing disapointment at the accuracy of the listing...he quickly offered a partial refund if I want to return it...honestly the lot cost $4, plus S&H, so it's not worth it for a $1 refund...especially if he's expecting me to pay return shipping...I think I'll just leave Neutral feedback and be more cautious next time...anyone need some YF-12 burners?

I'd be verging on the negative feed back......been very lucky on my fleabay purchases....bought a model once that was described as complete bar decals n instructions.....no worries but turned up with no clear parts...I questioned it n she said keep it n refunded my £6...result!!

Neutral feedback is plenty.  Just think to yourself, is $4 even worth the elevation in blood pressure?
