Found this link - http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=1029 - on Britmodeller.  Very interesting - looks like Sea Venoms dressed up to look like Sea Vixens for a Royal Tournament.  1:1 scale whif??

The naval aircraft I saw there were Sea Vixens, down to being loaded with Firestreaks????

Look again, the're not nearly big enough to be genuine Sea Vixens, Kitbasher is quite correct , the're "Vixettes", Sea venoms converted to lookalikes for the Royal Tournament.

Thorvic

Probably used at the School of Aircraft Handling, where pilots and ground crew practice flight deck operations before being let near a carrier.

Good conversions however, have all the Sea Vixen features including loading missiles !

There was some photos of this Sea Venom/Vixen a couple of years ago in one of the Air-Britain quarterlies I subscribe to.  I'll have to go through them all and see if I can find it again but the text did say they were converted Sea Venoms.

If you look at around the 59 sec to 1min 1 sec, you can actually see that the u/c fold outwards and that the inner pylon crosses the wheelbay.

as thorvic said they are the school, and were still in use untiull the early 90s as basic aircraft handeling before they were let used on the harriers

I did think they were a wee bit on the small side

Now that would be something to do with the 1/32nd Matchbox Sea Venom!!

JCF, my sentiments exactly.

one of my planned projects is to put scaled down Sea Vixen booms and tail on the DH.108 Swallow I have as a 'proof of concept' prototype.

My bad, very nice replicas then.
