Ideas for a Mach 2 Valiant

I've got a Mach2 Valiant in the stash and was thinking of what to do with it as I'll get an Airfix one when it's released. I love this idea of a 'Gnat carrier' as being built in the group build, but I might alter the idea a bit.

I'm proposing a Valiant escort fighter - a flying fortress with loads of Red Tops and 30mm Adens.

or

a Valiant long-range interceptor - armed with air launched versions of Bloodhound for shootring down Reds over the Arctic Circle.

Convert it to the B2 - that's what I'll be doing with mine.  The front is all twisted so cutting it off to bung in the fuselage extension will help sort that out.  I'm thinking Dark Sea Grey and Dark Green over PRU Blue.  The serials were allocated for the B2s - 17 in total - and were reallocated to B1s when the order was cancelled.

There were plans for a Vulcan toting 4 Bloodhounds.

Smashing aircraft the Valiant despite it's sad ending. In his book 'Bombers of the West' Bill Gunston refers to it as being one of only two successful post-war British aircraft programmes. Tantalisingly, he doesn't state the second but I reckon that he means the Buccaneer.

Looking forward to seeing both of your builds.

Love the idea of air-launched Bloodhounds, that'd give the RAF of the time some SERIOUS long range intercept capability! Will it have them in a rotary launcher in the bomb bay, under the wings or both?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

What about an airliner version? Cut windows in the fuselage, and put it in BOAC or Pan Am livery?

One of the early V1000/VC7 proposals is based on a Valiant proper, before they started tinkering and developing it into the airliner we SHOULD have had!

I think Gunston means the Hunter.
