Pretty much the 1st option but it kinda throws me when you get huge-long gaps in the process.

First for me - seeing the process is great to watch, especially when it's a master of bashing like JHM, or a scratch-building monster like Overkiller. The third option would work as well, though.

Assuming you have the threads arranged so the latest one is prominent at the top, the "updates" as they go along toward the final product are of interest to me. I have many threads tagged to inform me of new posts, so I can follow the process. Ultimately, the finished product is posted, so if one doesn't like to watch the progress, just wait a while!

Modeling is a PROCESS toward an end, and much can be learned along the way. I have picked up techniques, and things to avoid, by watching the process unfold on someone else's model. Often, too, a worthy project that  gets stopped (real life intrudes--haven't we ALL been there before?) can be encouraged to start again by fellow modelers' interest and inquiry. I enjoy the "community" of modelers here--most whiffers had a good sense of curiosity and vision that enhances creativity. I like to "see how their minds work" as a project unfolds.

I may get a little long-winded on some of my own progress updates, but I figure those who are truly interested will be rewarded, and those that are not will just click on something else. I try to illustrate with a simple, low-bandwidth picture, hopefully in focus. *I* enjoy the process, both on my own and other modelers' projects.

Definitely #1 I have learned so much from watching other builders. Now I enjoy seeing a nice model posted completely finished but I always would perfer to see the in progress shots.

Ditto! Watching WIP has given me so many ideas for many of the models I haven't finished yet. ;) ;D

This is like asking if you just read the last page of a novel, or watch the last 10 minutes of a movie, Of course we want to see the progress stuff! Your not trying to get lazy on us are you? I've learned tons from watching the in-progress threads and enjoyed seeing how things change course from what was planned to what it finally turns out to be.

I voted for the first one, Although I must admit I love seeing a complete surprise finished build!
