I originally thought of converting a 1:48 LearJet model but, now that I'm using my vacformer for the first time, I'm going full scratchbuild on this one with MDF wood patterns throughout. 

I've read Barry, that basswood is best to make the master moulds from.

Very likely true but, being the extreme environmentalist that I am, I must do everything in my power to reduce the tyrannical depletion of the world's beloved basswood forests!  Or something.

Axial and cross-section drawings for the patterns are all done but did not get the chance to saw wood for patterns just yet.  I'm going to photocopy the lay-out/cutting drawings first as I will, um, likely mess it up the first couple of times!
