Another pair of oldies...

Two of my Spiteful line-up, which will feed eventually into my Alternate Spitfire collection.

First up, the old Pegasus Spiteful F14.  No drastic mods, unless you count replacing the tail surfaces and radiators with more correctly shaped home cast resin components. 

The Pegasus kit isn't a bad rendition of the Spiteful, once you know what needs fixing.  It's supposedly too long if you go by Keith Woodcock's plans and it does have the chunkiness that other kits lack (yes, Mr AZ, I'm looking at your rubbish!)

Finished in the NMF scheme worn by some of 2 Sqn's Spitfire FR14s in the immediate post war period.

The second is Magna's resin offering and quite frankly, I hated it.  However, that was 8 years ago.  As I detest the newer AZ kit even more and given that the Magna kit has a Seafire FR47 style cowling, I may just get another one.

Very nice stuff.

I have no experiece with the kits you used, but I did give up on the AZ kit myself. Just couldn't get it to look right, even trying to widen the fuselage.

It's garbage.  I may try using the wings to do the Spiteful prototype but really, it's a very expensive spares source.

Decent 72nd Spiteful?  Lets just hope that Trumpeter scale down their 48th kit sometime soon!
