I need to know what shade/colour of red is used for foreign object guards in the RAF.   It appears an orangy-red colour in the photos I have.   Is that correct or would it be more of a fire-engine red?

It's a fair bet that orangey-red colour you describe is BS381 -537 Signal Red.

The trouble is that they're outside in all weathers, and the red tends to fade quite a bit.

On the other hand that also means that ANY Shade you pick will be right on a particular day....  ;D

Kit, true enough but it helps to start from the right basis.  Thanks for the tip, AndrewJ.
