ICM also did a smaller weapon set with just the following in it:

R-77 AA-12 'Adder' (x2)
X-29T AS-14 Kedge missiles (x2)
X-31P AS-17 Kripton missile (x2)

Strangely, they also come with pylons, thought it doesn't say for what aircraft. That implies to me that this is a weapons sprue from an actual aircraft kit.

Quality is..... variable. The two R-77s have different shaped fins, thankfully both oversize so they can be cut down and made correct. Their "chip cutter" control surfaces are also fixed in the open position, but are just empty rectangles rather than showing the diagonal grid pattern.
These weapons come with both Eastern Express Mig-21 SMT kits and their Mig-29 SMT kits and the Condor Mig-21 SMT kits.
Icm also did a bigger weapons kit with a whole load of different weapons in, this also featured in their Soviet airfield set.

I've read here and elsewhere to a Heller 1/72 "Hi-Tech" French weapons set but can't find one for sale anywhere or what it actually contains.  Has anybody got or seen one of these apparently mythical weapons sets?

Rickshaw,

Found this on the net.  Doesn't give a description but the artwork is a help.

I seem to recall and Airfix version of the same that had UK & NATO weapons.  From what I recall, the Heller kit was in the same vein, replacing the UK weapons with French ones.

"The Google-fu is strong in this one, yes!"  I've spent most of this arvo looking for that set and been unable to turn up a single image or lead.

A-ha! you must mean this set (top pic), second pic is the contents of the Airfix set and what they would be put on, third and fouth pic are the contents of the same box (or what's left of them).

I have both the airfix and the Heller sets, and personally, I am not keen on the photo etch stuff as it has a bad habit of falling off....too often.

Have to agree there Chris.  I think a lot of photo-etch is purely for the fact that it's there rather than being a good alternative to styrene, especially when one considers that they bring circular cross section stuff out like antennae etc.  Add the fact that it's super-glue only and it all becomes a PITA.

While doing some research on the Douglas Skybolt missile I came across the 1/72 scale Rockets, Missiles, Drones and RPVs page which contains a rather concise list of all (known to him) missiles in 1/72nd scale from various manufacturers which has been compiled in to a data base for reference which may be of use to some of you that are in search of a particular weapon for a project.
