this idea came to me this morning in a flash.

what do you get when you cross this:

with this  ;D

i was gonna enter this in the 1946 group build, but since the aircraft is as good as completed, its not eligable.
the kit is a Matchbox 1/72 Tempest V i bought at a rumage sale some time ago, it was largly completed, but missed a few parts, in other words perfect whif fodder

as for markings, im thinking French or some African nation, as the engine is a french made Gnome Rhône 14K Mistral Major engine, witch unfortunatly makes the aircraft hopelessly underpowered, even when the aircraft was tripped of its Armour plating, 20mm cannons and other heavy features.

i'll think of a back history later
on the bench:

-all kinds of things.

yes it will, as the nose of the new Tempest will be slightly nonger, the engine weaker and a different propellor.

going through the decals, i found a old Esci sheet of roundels, i decided to use the Cambodian AF markings on this aircraft with a sharks mouth  ;D
i was thinking maybe Cambodia joined the Allies in the fight against japan, and as an aid package, the RAF sent a number of older converted Tempests as a stopgap until the newer versions of the Spitfire and Fury were available in 1946/47

EDIT:

a Hacksaw and a while later... (prop is dryfit, will be painted)
the decals have been salvaged, the landing gear is found to, so im ready for some serious rework

-all kinds of things.

Just make it an engine of your own devising, and then it can be as powerful as you want! This should be an interesting comparison with the Tempest II, and will probably throw a lot of people off.
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

What? You mean The Wooksta missed one????  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
