Terry, everything I've read suggests the Hasegawa Echo is the best of the bunch, although comparitive expensive.  Italeri do one as well which is a nice kit but certainly more of a 'pre-production' variant than the Hase example.  I also believe RoG have one available, but I don't know if it's an original mould or one of the others'.

The Revell one is supposedly very, very nice indeed. I keep meaning to pick one up, but Superbugs aren't really a priority for me at the moment.
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

I have the Italeri E and F models, both are very nice kits Rad, and cheap enough to buy in bulk too, as you do Rad  ;) ;D

The old Revell 18E/F's are Italeri reboxed but the later F/A-18E (Kit No 04298) is their own new mould.  It's supposed to have better cockpit, intake trunking and more weapons than the Hasegawa, which is well pricey now! . Two things in favour of the Italeri is you can pick them up dirt cheap, I got an E and an F (became Icelandic Air Force) for a fiver each, and they have a LOT of weapons including Slammers. The dorsal airbrake needs filling in and there are some details that need sorting but I never bothered with mine coz it's whif world!

1/72nd Quad Tilt Rotor, 1/144th V/STOL E2 Hawkeye (stalled)

Italeri's E has the following weapons.
2 Aim-9 Sidewinders
2 AMRAAM's
2 Slam-ers
2 Harpoons
1 Flir pod
1 Centreline tank
IIRC the F replaces the Harpoons with HARM's

The Revell re-box of the Italeri kit even came with whif markings!  Low-viz options for USN VFA-131 Wildcats and USMC VMFA-122 Crusaders (before PC compliance made them the Werewolves (again)).

HERE'S my in-box review of the RoG kit made from new moulds.
Cheers,

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?
