ML-KNIL DH Vampire

ok, guess its time for me to join the fun

my first entry for the GB is this old NOVO 1/72 DH Vampire

it wil be painted up in Dutch East-Indies air force markings.

i dont have a back story yet, maybe tomorrow

below is a quick profile of what i have planned.

ok, first pic, nothing much, just the 2 fuselage halves put together $:-\$
as you can see, this a really old and bad kit, with a horendous fitting, the spot on the back that looks like a gleu stain, its not, i donr know what it is, looks like some sort of wax, could be plastic corrosion

I like the look of that Nils, that Dutch 'Orange Triangle' scheme always has something going for it, and it suits a Vampire very well.

It'll be interesting. Those triangles keep making me think its flying backwards so I suspect it would have confused the hell out o' them Japanese pilots!

been home since monday with the flu $:-\$ (feeling a bit better now)
thought i would use the time to continue on my vampire, wings and tail have been fitted.
im about to start on the landing gear (painting). might also concidering starting on my second entry, gonna check the stash and pick out a nice luft'46 model, propably gonna pick that revell B&V P.194.

ok, just finished paining on the green topside and grey underside, brown camo patern will be added later.
wheels are currently drying, although the underwing wheels still need there hobcaps painted

i was concidering withdrawing the aircraft from the GB, and make it a post war Belgian one, replacing an older belgian vampire that didnt survive the move 2 years ago. but with Revell releasing a new vampire kit this year, i thought to wait and build the Dutch East-Indies bird anyway

im gonna look at the decalbox, seeing i can find some serials and dorito markings
