That's like, a dollar 50 US, or about half a pound !

Anyway, they look to be about 1/100 scale.....Tomcat ( with tanks, Phoenix ((x2 ) and Sparrows ! ) AH-64, F-117, and SR-71.

You can't beat cheap kits, I mean really cheap kits.  ^_^  B)

That Tomcat looks like it's from the 'Hobby Models Kits' range, sold here in Blighty for 99p each. Is it a snapfix jobby? I've got the Jaguar A in the familiar 1/78 scale.

That ship looks like a Zhengdefu kit. I've bought a few, mainly because they're motorised and very, very cheap. I'm sure any real ship modeller would burn them as heretics but to my ignorant aerophile eyes they look great. I've got two carriers and both have comprehensive if crudely executed airwings.

It's always nice to note that even this cheap stuff is cheaper still in every other developed country... <_<

I know this is What If......but would you see Vigilantes and Hornets on the same deck??? Weren't the Vigs retired by the time Hornets came into the navy???

Other than that....would be accurate......but for 99cents....who cares???
Thanks

I seem to remember that there was some, but not much, overlap; something on the order of a couple years at the most.

According to Air Vectors, the last Vigilante unit disbanded in 1979.  Early-production Hornets were undergoing trials then, but the first unit wouldn't achieve IOC until 1983.

Why can't dollar stores around here ever stock anything that neat?

I reckon you'll spend more on filler than you did for the kit for thatF-14

Still, for a buck, you can't go wrong.  Ideal for Corporal Canada to build, or for his Old Man to do something interesting with :)

HEY!!!! I did one of those Tomcats last year, I even took it to Telford (where it stayed). Good fun and very cheap too.

My Zhengdefu CVN 65 Enterprise has two airwings, a 'vintage' and a 'modern'. The kit has parts to do both incarnations of the ship too. It only comes with decals and instructions for one of them though.  :(

Both my carriers have silly, non scale props for use with the motor but the Titanic uses contra-rotating scale propellors! The centre prop is a dummy. The props don't look very efficient but I worked out that it took Titanic 19 seconds to travel its own length so the model doesn't need to go fast. It's got interior lighting too, all for £3.99. OK so it sucks as a scale model but it's great as a scale toy! B)

I'm turning a few of my 2 dollar specials into 350th scale carriers.....I love chopping styrene !

The idea being, these small carriers ply Canada's coastal waters, to the 200 mile economic zone, mostly protecting oil rigs and FPSO's.

Woo Hoo !
